Big Plans
Well as we say goodbye to 2017 and look ahead to the new year, you have to take stock of how your business performed over the past twelve months. Most people just want to see the black ink at the bottom of the profit/loss page, but your business should be so much more than that. As you kick off 2018, think back over what you did right and what you did wrong.
As technology continues to change we have to as well. Is Facebook still the place to be? Are people getting tired of Twitter? Is something new on the horizon and if so, will it help us connect with our customers, new and old?
I myself as a business owner wrestle with those decisions everyday. Writing content for me is easy, but where to spend my time putting it can be tricky. I know this year I spent wasted energy on Facebook. But I also didn't do enough on Instagram, and I always get good feedback there.
My goals for January and beyond are simple. Make better choices where to spend my money, time and attention and let go of the things that don't work quicker. Do not try to convince a business owner they should advertise. If they cannot see the benefits, nothing I say or do is going to change that. Remember that it does take strategic planning and perfect scheduling
for a business to get a solid footing. Nothing is overnight, unless I am showing people how to turn water into wine.
Personally, this has been a horrible year, so I know that I have to make the next one better. I'm planning my course of action for my company now. Shouldn't you be as well?
