Don't Forget To Execute
You get your graphics and charts ready. You have your sales budget and mock-ups in hand. You write up your outline for your ads and decide on the date and time to launch them. Your marketing campaign is a sweet combination of hard work, brilliant ideas, creative gimmicks and eye catching advertisements. It's done. You have put everything into for your customer. What's left to do?
I wonder if I am the only one this happens too. I love the work that creates the campaign that will showcase what my client is prepared to offer to his/her customer. The project is delivered to my client and while they will be promoting within their business, it is up to me to handle the social media side of things. But while the make up of the job is fantastic, the delivery is not guaranteed. Why? Because like others it can be the downside to what I do.
I don't think it has anything to do with my capabilities. It has to do with the frustration of the constant changes in social media. One day Facebook is where it is at, the next Instagram. Are you using email marketing to launch your new product? Have you purchased a Google ad to let others know you have moved to a new location? Whatever it is, it is not about the work beforehand.
Yes, it is all about the delivery of said campaign. You can create the next Ronald McDonald, but if no one ever sees him, what good is it? And it is this uncertainty that leaves each project living on the edge.
So work hard. Plan and prepare each step. But don't forget to execute. Otherwise, why do anything else?
