Vital Information
At these trying times, businesses are struggling to stay afloat. Yesterday afternoon, I was able to obtain some vital information on how companies can keep their doors open. Please feel free to share this information with anyone who owns a business or is an independent contractor.
The Paycheck Protection Program has been set up to help employers retain their employees until the crisis is over. You can contact your small business development center for details. And most banks will have the necessary paperwork you will need to fill out if you qualify. The sooner you apply, the sooner the application can be approved.
Also check with your local Small Business Administration. Each day new relief lines are being added as the pandemic continues. You will also want to reach out to your bank for extensions on any business loans you may have at this time. Be sure to contact each insurance company for each policy you have, (property, automobile, workman's comp., etc.), as most companies are allowing you to delay your payments. And if you have loans for any vehicles you lease for your business, most lenders are allowing deferments as well.
Our local utility companies are delaying utility bills until the end of April. You just have to contact them and ask for it. I also spoke with Verizon, and was told that no one would lose their phone service if they were unable to pay. But you must call and ask for a postponement of payment.
Since of course this is unlike anything any of us have ever seen, there is going to be a time of adjustment. But we are all here to help each other. We will get through this. I hope this information helps. Stay safe my friends.
