There are two kinds of salespeople. Those that believe in showcasing their company on Facebook, and those that don't. The argument for some time now is whether everyone should be selling their goods and services on Facebook. And the fact is, both sides are right.

The pros of advertising on the social media giant is just that, it is a giant. With stats stating that Facebook is still the most popular site to be on, it is no wonder that so many people say it is the media to spend your dollars on. In the beginning, serious business owners thought that this was a sell-out, that real advertising should still stick with the big three, print, radio and television. But over time, that has changed. Purchasing ads can promote your company to local customers, therefore driving traffic to your page and then your website. And that is good.

The only negative is that while your are paying for space, so are most of your competitors. Within the last three years, over 80% of companies have bought an ad, posted on local pages, or sponsored their business. You are competing with everyone, but before social media you were anyway.

Choosing where you spend your hard earned dollar is never easy. You have to keep a close eye on what others are putting out there and update your specials, sales and services more often. The average buyer is researching before purchasing now more than ever.

So look around, make smart choices and go get that sale.
