No Rules

Have you ever noticed that lately advertising has become much more explicit? Sexual illusions, language and even smoking cigarettes has become the norm. Advertisers are pushing the boundaries and definitely feel like there are no rules they have to follow to get your attention.

If I am honest, I do not like this trend. I have for years muted commercials on television. The sound is much louder than any regular program. But if you take the time to really listen,, you will find a very liberal approach used by many companies.

I do not promote my clients businesses in a manner that may be embarrassing or intimidating to anyone. There are so many more creative ways to market without introducing campaigns that push one's political or religious opinions. Stick to the facts of what your client has to offer and you will not go wrong.

It is now up to us to police ourselves in our advertising. Good values and morals will never go out of style. In the end, the rule should be, respect everyone..
