Make It Special

You sell the same items every month, every week, every year. They were fabulous when you first started offering them to your customers, but now, they are just another product your business provides to your customers. We get in the habit of just wanting to sell, sell, sell. But the fact is those products and services move better if the buyer feels a connection. So what is a business owner to do? Make it special.
I write for a local golf course. A beautiful piece of property that offers only one product, a game of golf. Our followers and customers know every time they see something from me that I am promoting you playing golf with us. That can get boring. So I have learned that I have to write about things that are interesting to me, because I am like everyone else. I want to be engaged. I want to be intrigued.
So I don't offer a game of golf. For instance, I propose a day away from the phones at the office. I want my customer to feel like their time with us means something. To have fun, to get some exercise, to take the weight of the world off their shoulders.
Even if all you offer your customer is a tomato, make it a fantastic tomato. You customers will enjoy it all the more.
