Being Festive

This year, you can focus your sales strategies around big holidays like Christmas, New Years, of your company's anniversary. And you should. But I see a huge advantage in celebrating the little days. Smaller events like Valentine's, Mardi Gras and St. Patrick's day can increase your bottom line, so put these on the books.
Yes I know that they may seem insignificant to you, but for others that is not always the case. For instance, I am Irish and love attending the St. Patrick's Day parade in New Orleans every year. This is a splendid time for the local bars to go all out. Restaurants see an increase in traffic. And green anything was certainly the color of choice. Why wouldn't you jump on this bandwagon? If you are a tequila distributor, you certainly would want to amp up your marketing ads now.
So look for creative ways to get the word out about your business. If you are a nail salon, run a video of a client getting hearts painted on her nails. If you run a daycare, offer late night babysitting on the 14th of February for parents to enjoy their evening. No matter what your business is, you can even sponsor a float in a Mardi Gras parade and spread your logo on pens, beads, or other throws.
The idea is to think about the day and how it ties into your company vision. Be different. And the green this St. Patrick's Day may just be in your bank account.
